Posted on 20/01/2010 at 15:44Hi Joanne Cramps are a bugger of a thing. They usually occur when it is warmer out of the water than in - try and do a decent warm up before the race - kicking etc, and hope for a cooler day! Magnesium will help also, and do be afraid to down a bit of salt just before the race - just a wee bit - wet your finger and stick it in a salt shaker - suck, wash down....you're off. |
leg cramps

Posted on 16/11/2008 at 21:21hi i'm wondering if anyone else taking part in ocean swimming suffers from leg cramps while participating. i am getting them after i have been in the water for a while and they are really taking the edge off what is otherwise a fantastic experience. has anyone got any useful or better still completely failsafe remedies for this. i spent two thirds of the harbour crossing today in pain and although i finished, this is not the way i want to continue! |
